Where Are We From?

According to my father Wilhelm Casiple Jaranilla, their family is from Jaro Iloilo. Most of my relatives still reside there.

My father was born in the 1930s and was relocated during the war so I am not sure where the original Jaranillas came from. If you have more info, please send me an email so I can update this article.

Meanwhile while searching the net for our geneology, I came across Delfín J. Jaranilla (December 24, 1883 – 1980) who served as a judge in the Philippines during the Osmena administration, June 6, 1945-1946.

He served as the Attorney General of the Philippines from 1927 to 1932, as part of the American colonial Insular Government.

After the conclusion of World War II, he was picked to serve as a Justice of the Philippines on the International Military Tribunal for the Far East.

Did you know that he also had a Military Rank of Colonel?

Delfín J. Jaranilla was born to Antonio Jaranilla and Juana Jebución in 1883 in La Paz, Iloilo.

There was also some controversy surrounding the appointment of Judge Delfin Jaranilla as mentioned in the book "Introduction to International Criminal Law and Procedure" under "The History of International Criminal Prosecutions". Page 117 - 118.

Coming from another blog site, it was said that  “The progenitors of the Lopez clan of Iloilo were one Basilio Lopez [ ca. 1800 – 1875 ] and one Maria Sabina Jalandoni y Jaranilla [ 1816 – 1882 ].”

So this means that somehow we are related to the Jalandoni and Lopez clans.
